I believe in collaboration when it comes to therapy, working together to create a space where you can feel comfortable to be your authentic self. Safety and connection are hallmarks of my practice: providing and maintaining safety and connection with the self and others. My framework is rooted in humanistic/person-centered therapy and strengths based therapy. These frameworks recognize, celebrate and honour the unique qualities of each individual, work to empower you and support personal growth through self-awareness, acceptance and compassion.
As an art therapist, and eco-art therapist, I incorporate the art making process and accessing the natural world into the therapeutic process. Art making can offer you another avenue for exploring the issues and concerns that are bringing you to therapy, can help you to develop new skills, gain confidence and a sense of self-efficacy, and highlight your personal growth. Accessing the environment has been shown to effectively reduce stress, alter our perceptions of things, help with problem solving and focus, and help you to feel grounded in the present moment.
I work with children (8+), youth and adults who are experiencing feelings of depression, anxiety, self-esteem or image issues, emotional concerns, grief, stress and fatigue, identity and boundaries.
